Color Kinetics Demonstrates Continued Traction of OEM and Licensing Business
Color Kinetics Incorporated has announced the continued traction of its OEM and Licensing business with four agreements signed in the second quarter of 2004. By aligning with Color Kinetics, these companies are expected to gain a competitive advantage in quickly and easily exploiting the many benefits of proven solid-state lighting technology across wide-ranging products and applications.
The newly signed partners are Crystal Fountains, a provider of water feature solutions; Electrix Illumination, a manufacturer of architectural lighting fixtures; Grupo G1-V3, a Mexico-based lighting firm; and KIM Lighting, a manufacturer of outdoor architectural and landscape lighting products and division of Hubbell Lighting, Inc.
"The growth of Color Kinetics' OEM and Licensing business is testament to the value it offers - the integration of our core expertise, technologies, intellectual property, support and complete system approach – empowering partners to enter or enhance their position in the market for intelligent solid-state lighting," said Bill Sims, president and COO, Color Kinetics. Color Kinetics has an open, active approach to forming OEM and Licensing relationships with manufacturers who recognize the value and increasingly pervasive role of intelligent solid-state lighting. The company extends its proven Chromacore and Chromasic technologies, intellectual property and brand recognition to manufacturers seeking to enhance and differentiate their own product offerings across a wide variety of market segments, both within and beyond the lighting industry. Companies align with Color Kinetics in a number of ways, including the purchase of Digital Light Engines for turnkey integration into their own product lines, and by licensing the company's core technologies and corresponding issued patents. Existing OEM and Licensing partners include Altman Lighting, Balboa Instruments, B/E Aerospace, Hayward Pool Products, The Holmes Group, HoMedics, Intermatic, Main Light Industries, Tireflys and Zumtobel Staff Lighting, among others.
