DMX2iPLAY at the Olympics

Doug Fleenor Design has sent one of the their newest products off to the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. The DMX2iPLAY is being utilized by Procon to allow DMX512 control of the Color Kinetics Light System Engine. It is expected that its primary use will be during the closing ceremony to control a massive LED illuminated runway.

   The DMX to iPlayer 2 interface (model DMX2iPLAY) allows DMX512 lighting controllers to start shows and set the global intensity of a Color Kinetics LED controllers. The DMX512 to iPlayer 2 interface receives a DMX512 input signal and outputs RS-232 commands based on these levels. The interface uses three or five consecutive DMX512 channels: Trigger mode, Show selection, and Global intensity. Additionally, shows can be manually recalled via the thumb wheel user interface.

   The DMX2iPLAY is compatible with iPlayer 2 and Light System Engine, which are products and registered trademarks of Color Kinetics Incorporated.
