DTS Appoints New Cinema Consultant for Germany
DTS (Digital Theater Systems, Inc.) has announced the appointment of Michael Krauth as its new Cinema Consultant for Germany. Krauth joins DTS Europe from the major German dubbing company, Hermes Synchron GmbH., where he was the Head of the Sound Department. At DTS, Krauth will be responsible for developing and supporting the company’s film licensing business, and representing its interests within the German film production industry.
An experienced film sound mixer, Krauth was responsible for establishing the standards and workflow systems when Hermes Synchron established its Sound Department at Babelsberg, Potsdam. He was also responsible for the planning and equipment specification for the new Mixing Theatre there. He has extensive experience of working in film mixing theatres throughout Germany, both while at Hermes Synchron and as a freelance sound mixer.
Commenting on Krauth’s appointment, DTS Europe Managing Director, Tony Nowak, stated: “DTS is extremely pleased to have Michael working on our behalf. His appointment demonstrates our on-going commitment to the German film and exhibition community, and we look forward to continuing to forge and develop our industry relationships in the region with his expertise.“
