JVC Reveals a Trio of High-Definition Plasma Display Monitors

JVC has added two 42-inch models, the GD-V422PCE and GM-V42E and one 50-inch model, the GM-X50, to its existing plasma display monitor range.

Bob Harris, sales manager of Presentation Products comments: "Our new plasmas offer the highest resolution images possible coupled with sleek, refined styling that will set the standard for business and professional users."

The GD-V422PCE is a 42-inch plasma monitor which produces over 1.07 billion colours to display rich definition and subtle colour differences. JVC brings a flexible dynamic contrast ratio to this monitor, enabling the display of images with a high contrast of 4000:1 for areas that are dark and 160:1 for areas that are bright, so producing more realistic pictures with three-dimensionality and sharpness. Advanced signal processing features include scaling, de-interlacing and a 2:3 pull-down menu to select all video sources for HDTV and NTSC / PAL video monitoring as well as XGA presentation display (1024 x 760 pixels). The plasma supports a wide range of cinema and HDTV formats including 720 50/60p, 1080 50/60i, 1080 24p and 1080 24pSF. Dual display, side-by-side and picture-by-picture display can be achieved from two video sources. For multi-display and video wall applications, a digital zoom feature is available. Allowing more flexibility, the plasma colour monitor comes with discrete IR commands and an 8W x 8W audio amplifier output for optional speakers.

The GD-V422PCE comes in a very attractive chassis which is a mere 3.5 inches deep with a stylish silver bezel and removable carrying handles. Built-in screensavers can be programmed to eliminate potential burn-in. With a contrast ratio of 3000:1, the GM-V42E produces extremely bright pictures (1000cd/m2). The advanced gamma enables image reproduction with natural contrast at anyluminance level. It preserves tonal subtleties in the dark areas (without increasing the noise) and enhances image brightness. There is an on/off timer which eliminates phosphor burn-in. Integrated into the monitor is 2W x 2W speakers. S-VGA/XGA compatibility is included and 1080i viewing of HD (High Definition) images is possible. The plasma monitor can even be linked directly up to JVC's HD camcorder. For customisation, the bezel is easily removable for colour respraying.

Large screen imaging solutions for high-visibility applications such as exhibitions and retail showrooms can be made complete with the new 50-inch plasma, the GM-X50 from JVC. The plasma features a contrast ratio of 2000:1 and a set brightness of 400cd/m2 or 1000cd/m2 panel brightness. The front bezel can be removed for customisation. The digital enhancement circuitry adds edges to the image by adjusting the sharpness control and it ses JVC's specially developed gamma control for image reproduction and natural contrast.

Other products available in JVC's presentation range are high definition projectors (up to 1920 x 1080p), and CinePro rear projection screens.
