DiGiCo Announces New US Structure

DiGiCo has recently restructured its US operation, ensuring that the service synonymous with the DiGiCo name meets the growing demands of the US marketplace.

This programme includes the appointment of Ivan Schwartz as President - US Operation. “Schwartz has been with the company for over a year and has proved an invaluable member of DiGiCo’s US team,” explains managing director, Bob Doyle. “He has helped raise awareness of the brand, and his new role signifies the on-going progress and growth of DiGiCo worldwide.”

With the introduction of DiGiCo’s new mid-market console, the D1 Live in the last quarter of 2004, and the substantial amount of business this has attracted, Schwartz’s role is seen as pivotal to supporting the install business in the US. An additional sales role has also been created in order to support high-end national touring sound rental companies with an additional responsibility to develop regional rental activity for D5 and D1. Geoff Lissaman, as vice president – Concert Sound, ably fills this position.

“It’s very exciting to take on this new role,” comments Schwartz. “DiGiCo is continuing to expand business for the D5, especially in the installation market. The D1 has been available in the US for a couple of months and we are already beginning to see the immense potential of that product line in both the touring and install markets and the reaction to it so far has been extremely positive. The D1 opens up a new market for us below where we had been focusing with the D5, and it is also of interest to existing D5 customers looking to expand their system with a compatible, but smaller, product.

“DiGiCo is a premium brand in this market, and we offer what is considered by many professionals to be the easiest to use, best sounding live digital mixing console available today. The expandable nature of the D1 allows a smaller company to acquire our product and build up their system as their business grows. This ability to upgrade and expand the system ends up being much more cost-effective in the long run than consoles from our competition. Although, if you ask many touring professionals, there is no competition.”

Doyle concluded: “We are very optimistic about our place in the US large format digital console market, which will, we hope, fill the aspirations and provide a solution to our customers with current and future projects. The appointments of Ivan and Geoff give us the capacity to make the most of both current and future opportunities.”
