Tomcat Live at the Rio
Like many casinos in Las Vegas, there is no shortage of entertainment options at the Rio. Located just off The Strip, the casino/hotel is home to Tony ‘n Tina’s Wedding, magicians Penn and Teller, as well as productions of the Chippendales dancers and The Scintas (a variety show featuring the Scinta family). It just so happens that those last two acts will utilize Tomcat product to enhance their respective productions.
The new grid for The Scintas Showroom is made of Tomcat medium duty truss and is 44’ wide and 25’ deep. It replaces their standard pipe system for lighting points - a definite upgrade. In addition to housing the Scintas production, this room also functions as the ‘Club Rio’ nightclub. In 2005 a new show will join the room, as well.
The Chippendales all-male review used to share that same theatre space. However, their success warranted building their own performance space. The Chippendales Theatre Machine Bridge is a grid system also made of Tomcat medium duty truss, 61' wide x 16' deep. It is installed over the stage to provide easy access to the lighting grid underneath. A special projector platform was also manufactured to house two Christie Projectors utilized in the production.
