SSL AWS 900 Analogue Workstation System Wins TEC Award
Solid State Logic, the makers of industry-leading analogue and digital consoles, recently received the Mix Magazine TEC Award for the AWS 900 Analogue Workstation System in the Outstanding Technical Achievement-Large Format Console Technology Category. The 2005 TEC award is the icing on the cake for this outrageously popular console. SSL’s most popular console ever, the AWS 900 Analogue Workstation System provides a complete high-end production environment, combining the benefits of audiophile SuperAnalogue audio processing with DAW system integration.
Chris Jenkins, SSL’s director of commercial applications (and the designer of the AWS 900 system), and Phil Wagner, SSL Inc.’s president, accepted the award at the TEC Award ceremony during the recent AES Convention in New York City.
“Being recognized for our technical excellence is always appreciated and we’re thrilled to receive the TEC Award,” says Jenkins. “We’d like to thank all the current owners of the AWS 900 for helping it achieve this level of recognition. The success of the AWS 900 is really a testament to SSL’s commitment to creating powerful tools that enhance the experience of using a digital audio workstation.”
“SSL has turned the industry on its ear with the AWS 900,” says Wagner. “The console is designed to deliver the sonic capabilities of our flagship XL 9000 K Series in a compact package for smaller production environments. The AWS 900 makes SSL’s exceptional sound quality available to more users due to its aggressive price point. We thank the readers of Mix Magazine for giving us this award. This milestone achievement proves that audio professionals don’t want to mouse around with their critical audio projects.”
