What’s New with High End Systems at LDI
Check out the new Studio Command automated wash luminaire, which debuted recently at PLASA. The dichroic color-mixing fixture, with a MSR 700 or MSR 700/2 source, began shipping in September. With a small footprint and light weight (55 pounds), it’s the perfect addition to any lighting rig, be it in theatre, concert touring, corporate show, house of worship and other places where a powerful wash light is needed.
Catalyst v4, which sneak-previewed at PLASA, supports high-definition and LEDs, adds new effects and lots more. Plus it controls without DMX. Watch the demo and see how it can help you in your next project.
Meanwhile, the DL2 digital light adds 3-D thrills to the event. The digital automated lighting fixture features an integrated media server and a Sony video camera and illuminator. It began shipping recently and can currently be seen on Sheryl Crow's tour, among other projects in the works.
Over in Hog world, Wholehog 3 users will want to get their hands on the Expansion Wing. The unit adds 40 additional playbacks. Hog iPC will also be on the scene as well, showing its support of three monitors.
In the High End Systems people news department, co-founder and chief technology Officer Richard Belliveau will be receiving the Wally Russell Award for his technological developments in the lighting industry. It all happens Saturday, Nov. 12 at 6:30 p.m. during the ETS-LDI Awards in the Orange County Convention Center. High-tail it to the awards area early and toast to Richard -- on behalf of High End Systems, a sponsor of the event.
