Pioneer Introduces 42-inch Plasma Display to its Professional VGA Range
Pioneer has announced the launch of its new 42-inch WVGA plasma display to complement its existing high quality professional XGA range. The PDP-42MVE1 introduces a range of features to enhance WVGA performance including Pioneer’s encased cell structure coupled with pure digital signal processing to improve image reproduction. With one of the widest range of connections available on a WVGA panel, the PDP-42MVE1 strengthens Pioneer’s industrial business line and will extend its reputation for premium performance in the professional sector.
Several technologies enhance performance of the WVGA panel. First is the Encased Cell structure that improves luminous efficiency to raise brightness and sharpen even subtle details. This is complemented by Capsulated Colour Filter technology that decreases light reflections and provides accurate colour reproduction. The Pure Digital Process has a major influence on image quality. It reduces noise, delivers sharp, vivid images and improves image rendering. Typical display life cycles are extended by an Orbiter function (that subtly moves images), an inverse mode and ‘Soft Focus’ mode.
The PDP-42MVE1 will particularly appeal to customers with large installations and meets the extensive demand in the industrial sector for VGA plasma displays in Europe. Pioneer is already the leader in the growing XGA sector and the new product places it in a very strong position in the professional plasma display market as a whole.
Ben Leet, from technology market analyst DTC, comments: “We conducted research into reseller brand preferences in Europe, finding that Pioneer was rated the leading brand for flat panel product quality. This was attributed to its XGA Plasma range, and so Pioneer’s entry to the WVGA sector is a move to watch closely.”
