Doubleplusgood Websites

California-based Doubleplusgood Media, the marketing and technical writing business of industry writer Mike Falconer, has announced a major redesign of its online presence.

Since early 2004, Doubleplusgood Media has provided PR copy and marketing services specifically geared to the entertainment-technology market. “It’s been a great year,” says Falconer. “We’ve been working with a lot of the smaller companies as well as a few of the bigger ones, and I think we’ve carved a rather nice niche for ourselves. However, it was time for a bit of a shake-up as far as the website was concerned.”

Although initially looking like a slight stylistic change to Doubleplusgood Media.com, Falconer has made substantial structural changes to the company’s website -- as well as starting a new one: www.MikeFalconer.net.

“MikeFalconer.net is a way of drawing a very solid line between the marketing work that Doubleplusgood Media does and what I do as a freelance writer,” comments Falconer on the change. “Both sites feature significant archives of material. On DoubleplusgoodMedia.com, you can find a complete archive of press releases, commissioned case studies and technical documents we’ve written for various lighting and sound companies over the last year. On Mike Falconer.net, you can find a complete archive of the things I have written for various industry publications as an independent journalist.”

As well as press releases, photography and case studies, 2004 also saw Doubleplusgood Media take on a number of larger projects. The largest of these projects was an almost 30,000-word script for MA Lighting’s grandMA training DVD. Other notable projects included the writing of a completely new website for the re-launch of Ingram Associates as Unlimited Visibility Lighting Design (UVLD) and a syntax translation document for Zero 88.

What does 2005 hold? “I wish I knew!” smiles Falconer. “There are a few interesting technical writing projects on the horizon for Doubleplusgood Media, and the customer base for press releases is always on the rise, so that keeps us pretty busy. However, the most interesting jobs are always the ones that you never expect until they land in your lap."
