Bandit Lites And Veggie Tales

Veggie Tales was born and nurtured in a spare bedroom by computer animator and storyteller Phil Vischer in July of 1993. With one computer, little capital and no connections, Phil set out with the goal of creating values-based family media products. After creating Veggie Tales, it became one of the most popular children's video series in the world. By the year 2001, the company had sold more than 20 million videos.

Bandit Lites is working with Lighting Designer Larry Boster, production manager David “Hud” Haney and Moore Entertainment Group / AEG Live on the Veggie Tales Rockin’ Live 2005 tour produced by Big Idea, Inc scheduled for the summer months. Larry Boster designed a creative lighting system and structure that serves to light the performances as well as create a backstage wardrobe area to house the costumes and other props used by the show. Boster further expanded the lighting areas to include truss toning of offstage Video Screens as well as a front façade with the Veggie characters.

A three foot mirror ball and 40’ Stardrop accompany the 18 MAC 500’s, 18 MAC 600’s, eight MAC 300’s and six Wildfire blacklight units all suspended from 200’ of Thomas trussing.

“We are very honored to be working with the people at Big Idea Productions, Moore Entertainment, Hud and Larry Boster on this tour and the family values associated with Veggie Tales,” says Bandit’s vice president Mike Golden.

Bandit is also supplying Shawn Worlow as board operator and Steve Comer as first electrician for the tour and it’s scheduled to tour through the summer.
