LEED Accreditation for Lightswitch’s Avraham Mor

Lighting Designer Avraham Mendall Mor, of Lightswitch Chicago, has earned his LEED certification. Mor is the second Lightswitch designer to achieve this certification, joining colleague Kelly Roberson, who earned her certification in 2004. This represents Lightswitch’s commitment to following green building practices and principles in their design work.

Mor commented: “Becoming a LEED-AP is important because of the growing trend toward construction that follows LEED guidelines. There is a nationwide sensitivity to energy consumption and the construction of environmentally friendly buildings. Even in our home city, we see a marked awareness of and desire to follow LEED practices. Mayor Daley is trying to ‘LEED’ the country by making Chicago the greenest city in the world -- and Lightswitch wants to help make that happen.”

Lightswitch is already involved in the design of two projects that will seek LEED certification, the Museum of Broadcast Communications in Chicago and Clybourn Point, a four-story condominium building in Chicago.

A graduate of the University of Kansas, Mor has designed a wide variety of projects over the past ten years, including The Whole Thing, a Stage Left Theatre production, the 100th Anniversary of Harley Davidson event and restaurants such as Wildfire in Glenview, Illinois and Joe’s Seafood in Las Vegas, Nevada. He has been a member of the Lightswitch team since 2004.
