Lighthouse Technologies and Sony Plan National Service Programs for LED Visual Displays
Lighthouse Technologies has announced that it has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with Sony Electronics Inc. to utilize Sony’s extensive resources to provide national on-site service programs to Lighthouse’s existing and new professional grade LED large screen video customers in North America.
Sony has a long history with large-scale display systems, making them uniquely qualified to provide contract maintenance services and remote system monitoring to professional-grade LED video systems, such as those being sold by Lighthouse Technologies.
Under the LOI, the two companies expect to develop contract maintenance programs and remote system monitoring services catered to Lighthouse’s large screen LED display systems. Sony will staff and maintain a North American field service organization complete with emergency spare parts, priority hardware exchange programs, field engineers, and overnight shipping. Lighthouse Technology’s service and parts center, located in Irvine, Calif., will provide material and technical support to Sony’s service organization.
“I am thrilled to work with Sony to bring a heightened level of service and customer satisfaction to our customers in North America,” said Tony Turiello, Lighthouse’s vice president of sales, marketing and operations. “Anyone who has used Sony’s professional services in the past knows the company is very capable of delivering and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. Under our planned arrangement, Lighthouse customers can expect the same high level of expertise and performance that Sony has built its reputation on.”
“For Sony Electronics, this relationship will maximize the expertise, resources and programs we already have in place,” said Erwin Ishmael, vice president of professional services in Sony’s Broadcast and Business Solutions Company. “In addition to contract and preventative maintenance programs, this is an excellent opportunity for us to demonstrate the value of our remote service monitoring system capabilities.”
This LOI comes on the heels of several new product launches at Lighthouse as it continues to meet high demands in the surging digital signage and rental and staging markets. The latest development from Lighthouse is the PopVision, the industry’s first portable, self-contained high brightness LED video screen, which debuted in June at InfoComm in Las Vegas. The screen is easily transported in a 5’ x 2’ flight case featuring a wireless remote and hydraulic system that allows the screen to “pop up” for fast, simple set-up. With its 6mm dot pitch, the PopVision is ideal for events requiring sharp visual displays, as well as mobility for challenging staging and event applications.
Other recent Lighthouse LED screen products include a new generation of super-quiet fan-less P10 and R10 panels. These noiseless 10mm panels are ideal for applications such as concert venues, conferences, convention centers, corporate lobbies, faith-based facilities, museums, studios and broadcast events where noise levels must be kept to a minimum. The company has also seen its products used in a number of high visibility LED screen installations, including the San Diego Padres PETCO Park and on the set of Queen’s “We Will Rock You” show. The “We Will Rock You” projection required 120 Lighthouse LED panels, each measuring 8.40 feet wide and 7.87 feet high. Lighthouse screens have been used in several national tours and concerts for artists like Sting, Metallica and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
