JBL Sweeps The Board at TEC Awards

JBL Professional is celebrating a double victory after its products came first in both loudspeaker categories at this year’s Mix Foundation for Excellence in Audio Awards.

The 22nd Annual Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Awards, held at the Hilton San Francisco during the 121st AES Convention, gave the industry an opportunity to honour outstanding technical and creative achievement in professional audio production and product design. Over 750 industry movers and shakers attended the Awards where they were treated to performances from Steve Miller and Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top.

JBL Professional’s LSR4300 won the Best Studio Monitor Loudspeaker category, while the company’s VRX932LA won the category for Best Sound Reinforcement Loudspeaker.

Martin Seidl, JBL’s director of sales, Europe, says: “Everyone at JBL is very proud that our hard work has been reflected in the votes of Mix magazine readers, who have chosen to endorse LSR and VRX as industry-leading successes. We were especially delighted to receive two of the most prestigious Awards in pro audio in front of such a esteemed crowd. Our thanks go out to everyone who has helped make these products such a success.”

The LSR4300 Studio Monitor is the ultimate monitor for modern production studios. Designed to provide accurate mixes in any workspace, and priced well within the reach of any project studio, the LSR4300 features JBL’s exclusive RMC Room Mode Correction technology that automatically analyses and corrects the response of each speaker in the room for absolute accuracy at the mix position. Ideal for music, post, broadcast, Surround 5.1, and beyond, these are the first studio monitors to incorporate powerful network intelligence, which is built into each speaker to deliver an accurate mix in any room.

The VRX932LA is a portable line array system that brings the tour-sound-proven versatility and performance of JBL’s VERTEC Series line array to small to medium entertainment venues, A/V rental companies, and entertainers travelling with their own PA system. This compact 12-inch, two-way line array loudspeaker is designed for use in arrays of up to six units. Each speaker has a 15-degree (nominal) vertical coverage angle, which means that a single enclosure or arrays consisting of two or three speakers can provide practical vertical coverage.
