H.A.S. Productions Happy with MH Series
Larry Hall, owner of Las Vegas-based production services company H.A.S. Productions, has announced that he has increased his company’s console inventory with the purchase of two Soundcraft MH Series desks – a 48+4 MH2 and a customized 46+6 MH4. The two new consoles join another 40+4 MH4 that H.A.S. purchased shortly after the product made its debut in the spring of 2002.
“After selling off one of our older front-of-house desks, we were planning to replace it with another used desk,” Hall recalls. “However, when we looked back at the performance of our MH4 and realized that we’ve all been very happy and had literally had no issues with it, we opted for another MH4 instead – brand new with a full warranty for around the same price as that other used desk. As a small rental house, the dual-mode capabilities of the MH4 really made much more sense for us anyway.”
As for the MH2 purchase, Hall quipped: “A VCA board in that price range with the MH stamp on it? It was a no-brainer!”
“Truthfully, Soundcraft has been one of the few companies that I’ve dealt with over the years that I’m one hundred percent satisfied with every single day. Soundcraft has been an A-1 product and A-1 company to deal with since day one; plus, they’ve never treated me like a small fish, which I’ve appreciated.”
Since acquiring the new MH4 and MH2, both desks have frequently been out in use – together and separately – for dedicated FOH and monitor duties at Caesar’s Palace, The Aladdin, Freemont Street Experience, Silverton Hotel Casino and other locations on shows for Ricky Van Shelton, Spyro Gyra, CCR, Eddie Money, Dickey Betts (Allman Bros.), Al Jardine (Beach Boys), 38 Special, Freddy Fender, Frank Sinatra, Jr. and more.
Specializing in concert one-offs and a bit of corporate client work, H.A.S. is a full-service production house handling sound reinforcement, lighting, staging, backline and repair. The company keeps busy with approximately 350 shows on the books each year throughout Nevada, Arizona and Southern California.
