Utah Performance Hall Opens to Acclaim
Artec has announced that the University Performance Hall at the Utah State University campus in Logan, Utah, was opened with a gala performance by guest pianist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet on 14th January, 2006. Artec provided design and planning consulting services in auditorium design, facility planning, and specialized performance system design and planning in association with the design architect, Sasaki Associates Inc.
Ted Pyper, Artec's Project manager for the new facility says: "This 420-seat hall was designed to meet the needs of the University's College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences. The performance hall is ideal for piano and string recitals, small to medium-sized ensembles, and special lectures. In addition to the hall, the facility includes dressing/practice rooms, a green room, and a lobby/exhibition space. This building will complement the other existing venues on campus. Artec's consultants specializing in acoustics, theatre planning, theatre equipment and sound and communication systems worked as a closely knit team to provide the university and the other members of the design team with recommendations appropriate for their needs."
