Schmidt Appointed Product Manager at Vincent Lighting Systems
Vincent Lighting Systems (VLS) has announced changes within its Product Department.
Melissa Schmidt has been appointed product manager. Schmidt has handled Inside Sales at VLS Cincinnati for more than four years. Previously, she worked at VLS as rental shop manager, before moving south, where she was house electrician for Rudder Theatre Complex on the Texas A&M campus. As product manager she’ll not only answer customers’ questions and place orders, but will work with over 100 manufacturers and oversee department policy. While the company’s headquarters are based in Cleveland, Ohio, Schmidt will manage the Product Department from the Cincinnati branch.
J.R. Simons, who joined VLS in 1998 and has extensive technical experience in the entertainment industry, has switched seats to resume his previous role in Inside Product Sales in the Cleveland location. This new arrangement will allow him more time to focus on what he does best: providing lighting solutions for customers.
In addition, Brian Bernicken has pulled up a seat beside J.R. as inside sales representative in the Cleveland office. Bernicken had previously been assistant rental shop manager for the past four years. He attended Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, where he majored in Theatre Studies. Bernicken is well known in local theatre having worked at numerous venues, including Cleveland Public Theatre and Cain Park. Now he will use that experience to work in tandem with Simons to assist customers and provide lighting solutions.
