Double Trouble Tour No Trouble for Bandit
One of the hottest tickets this summer is Lynyrd Skynyrd and 3 Doors Down Double Trouble Tour. The June 23 rd show at Trump Taj Mahal was filmed for broadcast on VH-1. Bandit Lites was the lighting vendor for this historic paring. Both bands are success stories at the highest level and have nothing but respect for one another.
The lighting design is a collaboration between long time Skynyrd LD Steve Owens and 3 Doors Down LD Matt Mills. Tour Managers Steve Voudouris and Conrad Coriz oversee the tour’s operation. The designers have selected quite an array of hardware to make this show shine.
Each band has a different and distinct look due to clever masking, drapes and truss movement between sets. While Skynyrd is more of a theatrical old school look, 3 Doors Down is a straight ahead 2006 rock look. Both Owens and Mills have also programmed their shows to give the audience the most bang for their buck from a shared system.
The tour spent a week at Starwood in Nashville fine tuning the show before they hit the road. The equipment utilized includes three grand MA consoles, AC Lighting Colorweb, High End Turbo Cyberlights, High End Studio Beams, Martin MAC 2000’s, the new Coemar LED PARs, and Thomas PixeLines.
