Tony Gottelier
It is with sadness that we report the death last week-end of Tony Gottelier, after a long illness.
etnow editor John Offord remembers him fondly. “Tony was a true Rennaissance man, a master of design in our industry across its many facets - and a writer of great style. He wrote his first copy for me for the first issue of Lighting+Sound International upon recommendation, and we never looked back. His work you had to note, and his words you were drawn to read. As L+SI’s editor across 12 years I always had to read his copy with care and attention due to its depth and meaning, and I know many readers would turn first to his pages. When we toured venues or exhibitions together, the conversation during the journey was always highly notable. He was unique, and certainly made his mark on our industry. I am sure we will read many worthy tributes over the coming days, each casting an emphasis upon different segments of Tony Gottelier’s broad talent and intellect.”
