Turbosound Launches New Ceiling Speaker

Turbosound is introducing a new ceiling speaker, the TCS-C5OT reinforcing the company's commitment to providing ultimate quality loudspeakers for a wide range of applications. Designed for voice evacuation, paging, and background music markets, Turbosound brings its extensive knowledge of providing concert sound to a high-quality full-range two-way ceiling loudspeaker. Perfect for restaurants, retail shops, hotels, cafés, airports, boardrooms, conference centers, nightclubs and bars.

Designed to be installed in all types of suspended ceilings and providing a 180-degree dispersion pattern, the TCS-C50T is supplied with a hole cutout template and a Phoenix-style, non-reversible connector to allow ceilings to be prepared and wiring to be installed and pre-terminated prior to the loudspeakers being onsite. Its integral line transformer will work with both 70- and 100-volt line distributed systems, and provides several power taps for adjusting SPL to individual zones, in addition to a low-impedance (16-ohm) setting, all accessible from a front-panel rotary selector.

The unit is rated at 75 watts RMS and has a usable frequency range of 75Hz to 22kHz. It features a wide, conical dispersion pattern suitable for both music and speech applications.

Compliant with BS5839-8 and IEC/EN60894 Voice Evacuation Standards, the unit also features an additional thermal fuse to minimize the chance of short circuit failure in the event of fire. Available in 16 ohm and 70/100V line transformer versions, ceiling support tile bridges are optionally available.

"We are continually re-evaluating and updating our range to ensure that there is a Turbosound product to provide a cutting edge solution for almost every kind of audio application," says Paul Giansante, Sennheiser's product manager for Turbosound. "The TCS-C50T demonstrates our commitment to that goal, raising the standard yet again in their respective markets."
