Damon Atwood Joins J. R. Clancy Sales Team

J. R. Clancy, Inc. has hired Damon Atwood to manage its packaged hoist sales. Atwood will focus on North American sales the company’s PowerLift automated hoists and SceneControl theatrical rigging consoles.
Mike Murphy, Clancy executive vice president said: “With the explosive growth of automated rigging and controls within our industry, and Damon’s 25 years of theatrical and packaged hoist knowledge, we are thrilled to have him as a member of our team. Damon’s commitment and enthusiasm aligns with Clancy’s mission to “Make our Partners Successful” by providing them with the proper tools and support to understand the value and advantages of automation in schools and professional theatres.”
“J.R. Clancy has been in the automated rigging business since the 1960s,” said Atwood, “and the company saw the need for a packaged, off-the-shelf hoist product for use not only in professional theaters, but also in high schools and colleges. PowerLift and SceneControl are natural progressions in the company’s product lines. Now, I’m pleased to have the opportunity to take my expertise in automation to help architects and consultants incorporate automated rigging in their projects.”
Atwood was the executive vice president of sales with Hoffend & Sons, Inc, and also a rigging specialist for SCO Engineering, one of the largest engineering firms in Indiana, and Associated Control and Design (ACD), a theatrical dealer specializing in rigging.
