ETC Debuts Ion Lighting Control Desk at LDI 2007

Losing no momentum in an unprecedented year of awards for its lighting control systems, ETC is set to unveil its next blockbuster control desk, Ion, at LDI in Orlando, 16-18 November.
Visitors to ETC's stand (number 827) will get the first look at this latest addition to ETC's Complete Control line - the much-anticipated follow-up and smaller sibling to its award-winning Eos desk.
Like Eos, Ion (pictured) is designed for today's multimedia lighting rigs - delivering seamless control over conventionals, moving lights and LEDs. College and community theatres, TV studios and rehearsal halls are among the venues that will benefit from Ion's operational style. With its convenient small footprint - only 48cm wide - Ion is a compact, affordable solution for space starved venues, with the flexibility to grow even more powerful as needed.
Professionals and novices alike will find Ion to be highly intuitive and easy to use. Ion comes in 1000, 1500 and 2000 channel/output configurations and features an integral LCD for softkeys and non-intensity parameter control. The board offers a dedicated master playback fader pair, grand master and blackout switch. The Ion programming keypad makes frequently used functions easy to access, while physical rotary encoders take the work out of changing colour, focus and gobos. For further functionality and power, Ion can connect up to six optional USB fader wings for 240 additional faders - playbacks or submasters - with paging controls.
Ion can be used as a stand-alone desk or networked system with up to four Ion devices, such as additional Ion consoles, Ion Remote Processor Units, Net3 Remote Video Interfaces or computers running Eos/Ion client software. The Net3 Radio Focus Remote allows for remote control of lighting rigs. Ion can also be used as a client on an Eos system, where it will support the full output of that system.
A must-see at the LDI tradeshow, Ion will share the stage with the rest of ETC's Complete Control lineup, including the portable SmartFade ML console - fresh off its win as best lighting product at the WFX tradeshow in Atlanta - as well as the triple-crown-winning Eos, and Congo and Congo jr.
