Cadillac Corporate Event Sounds Superb with EV XLD
EV’s super-compact XLD line array loudspeaker system continues to prove an ideal sound solution for corporate events that require a tidy footprint without cutting corners on power and audio quality.
Prestige auto manufacturer Cadillac recently enjoyed XLD sound for a series of meetings, events and previews held at the Doral Resort in Miami for 200 of their top dealers, all of whom were on their way to watch the Superbowl.
Ann Arbor, Michigan-based Amazing Audio Inc. handled the production, relying on their EV XLD rig to deliver impeccable audio for every application. Amazing Audio’s Jeff Jones designed a main PA comprised of four hangs of five XLD boxes, with Xsubs carrying the low end and Xi boxes on delay duty.
“I love the XLD for corporate jobs,” says Jeff Jones, “they’re the perfect box in terms of size, rigging, weight and their superior natural sound quality—voices sound like voices and music sounds like music. You can’t say that about all compact line arrays. We can precisely address projects like this with hangs of four to eight XLD boxes, depending on the room and ceiling height. And, combined with our X-Line Xsubs or XLC215 subs, they really sound fabulous.
“These corporate jobs require a lot of wireless mic’s - mostly lav’s - and the XLDs produce a wonderfully natural sound for everything we put through them,” added Jones. “This show had 50+ videos, many featuring the rock anthems for which Cadillac are renowned, so sound was at the heart of the whole event. The client remarked how seamless the show was—they were extremely pleased with the audio for every detail.”
