Substantial Investments Boost Production for Bosch Communications Systems
During the same financial quarter in which Bosch completed their acquisition of pro audio industry leader Telex Communications (resulting in the formation of Bosch Communications Systems, a business group of the Bosch Security Systems division, substantial cash investments were put into effect at the Straubing, Germany and Morrilton, Arkansas facilities manufacturing the Dynacord and Electro-Voice product lines.
Bosch’s immediate commitment to the improvement and expansion of these factories literally adds concrete to the common goals that brought Bosch and Telex together—high quality without compromise, brand stability and long-term growth. By keeping production rooted in each brand’s country of origin. Bosch reinforces a dedication to brand quality and, of course, the associates who live near and work at these plants.
Following millions of dollars of investment, construction of 43,000 additional sq. ft. of production space is well underway at Dynacord HQ in Straubing, with an additional 9600 sq. ft. of office space and a new 64,500 sq. ft. warehouse. A 6400 sq. ft. area will serve as a world-class sound stage for audio testing and measurement, highlighting the company’s commitment to rigorous R&D.
At the Electro-Voice facility in Morrilton, Bosch’s over 2 million dollar investment will improve throughput capability, build times and production precision, with investments going into the plant’s wood mill and transducer production lines. Improvements include state of the art CNC routers, very high-energy magnetizers, automated adhesive dispensing and numerous precision tooling upgrades. When improvements are complete, Morrilton will be one of the most modern and best-equipped loudspeaker manufacturing plants in the world.
