Bandit Donates Lighting Package to Knoxville Heart Gala

Bandit Lites recently donated $90,000 worth of lighting for the 22nd annual Knoxville Heart Gala. The black-tie fundraiser took place on Saturday, February 24th, 2007 at the Knoxville Convention Center. All proceeds benefited the American Heart Association.

This year’s theme was Au Coeur de Paris -- In the Heart of Paris. Gala co-chairs, Ginna McNamee and Linda Tisdale, said that they chose a Parisian ambience with fine dining, unique silent and live auctions, and dancing to live music. Over 500 corporate, medical and community leaders attended.

Lighting Designer Will Twork used the following equipment to light the event: ETC Source Fours, MAC 2000 Profiles and Washes, MAC 500s and 600s and Thomas Engineering PARS. The lighting package was controlled by two Whole Hog IIs. The overall lighting scheme was designed to provide eye candy for the folks attending the event,” Twork explained.

He designed a warm look for the auction section of the evening and a cooler look for later in the evening. MAC 500s and 600s were used to provide a backlight for the room. Star patterns were added to the profiles to portray a starry night.

Surrounded by Color Kinetics 4’ LED tubes, a diamond shaped video wall took center stage. Twork created chases, which added movement to the color. The middle of the room also featured a fountain display, which was softly lit to add the final touch to the event’s Parisian theme.
