Darkside Introduce NEO Range of Exclusive PPE
DarkSide Industries has launched a new and exclusive range of PPE that’s been specifically engineered for the entertainment industry.
The DarkSide NEO brings a fresh and new approach to riggers’ harnesses and lanyards. DarkSide’s MD, Martin Green, said: “We could see there was a need for PPE that had been developed specifically for the entertainment industry. We had riggers asking us really important questions, like how will I know if my harness has been in a fall? Where is my gear being made? When you’re literally putting your life in your PPE, these are questions you really want answers to!”
DarkSide’s solution has been to work with a leading manufacturer in the UK to develop the new, all black NEO range, including a range of single and double elasticated lanyards, and the NEO 2 and NEO 16 harness. “The NEO 2 is a revolution,” claims Martin. “It’s the only followspot operator’s harness we know of with RipStitch technology. You can actually see if this harness has been in a fall.”
As for the NEO 16, it’s a full work positioning and fall arrest harness that combines quality, safety and real comfort. Like the NEO 2, it has all stainless steel fittings, plus five pick ups and work positioning points, and superior padding and support on the legs and back. “This really is a top-notch harness,” said Martin, “It easily rivals the market leader, but you can fit it and be ready to work in under a minute, straight from the box – it’s that easy to use.”
NEO is available exclusively and ex stock from DarkSide. “That’s the beauty of an all-UK supply chain,” said DarkSide sales director, Simon Ellison. “We know where everything’s coming from, who’s making it, and when it’s going to be delivered - so there should always be stock on the shelf. And we’ll even be happy to take you on a tour of the factory.”
“With the NEO range, we’ve done something no-one in entertainment has ever done before,” claims Martin. “We’ve gone out there and asked the questions. We’ve taken out prototypes and developed this range with the people who’ll be using it. And we’ve come back with a superior range that we feel matches any of the current market leaders, but costs about 20% less.”
