The Certification Council has worked closely with leading trainers in the industry to craft a program that recognizes experienced trainers while allowing them the flexibility to adjust each class to the needs and skills of their attendees. Trainers are awarded qualification points based on a number of criteria including prior teaching experience, attendance at teacher training courses, ETCP Certification, standards writing, and subject matter expertise.

The following individuals have applied and been awarded ETCP Recognized Trainer status: (Rigging Trainers) Harry Donovan, Jay Glerum, Jerry Gorrell, Rocky Paulson, Eddie Raymond and Bill Sapsis (Electrical Trainers) Jerry Gorrell and Ken Vannice.

Information about these trainers and details about the application process are available at:

ETCP Certificants seeking renewal credits will earn twice as many credits by attending courses taught by ETCP Recognized Trainers. ETCP Recognition is also available to training programs that complete an application and review process. Currently, there are two ETCP Recognized Rigging Training Programs: Mountain Productions CM Hoist School and Tomcat USA’s Hoist and Rigging Workshop.

Membership includes AMPTP, CITT, ESTA, IAAM, IATSE, InfoComm, The League, Live Nation, PRG, TEA, and USITT. ETCP is an ESTA initiative created to promote industry safety.
