Martin MAC III Profile Featured at Bandit Lites Demonstration

Bandit Lites recently hosted a demonstration of one of Martin's newest products, the MAC III Profile, for lighting designers and Bandit staff. Martin regional sales manager, Lewis Long, and entertainment project manager, Brad Haynes were onsite to answer questions about the product. The MAC III was first introduced at PLASA earlier this month.
The MAC III Profile offers several new features including an enhanced depth of field, crisper beams and sharper images at various projection angles than previous models. The MAC III has a broader front lens that projects a stunning fat beam and can zoom from 11.5 degrees to 55 degrees in less than one second. It is also up to 75 percent brighter than previous Martin 1200-watt fixtures and puts out over 33,000 lumens from the 1500 watt fast-fit, single-ended lamp.
For this product, Martin created two entirely new interchangeable gobo wheel designs that can be calibrated manually or remotely by using the on-board LCD screen. The battery-powered LCD screen allows the fixture status to be read while the unit is still in the flightcase and can even display errors when it is off. The MAC III automatically logs each event so designers have the opportunity to review the unit's performance immediately or later. The MAC III's animation wheel is made out of glass to create more complex designs like continuous, linear rain and running water effects. It uses enhanced color technology, CMY mixing with CTO, and chromaticity tuning to create deeper and more vibrant colors. The seven-slot color wheel allows artists and designers to choose pre-selected colors, customize their own or create exceptional blending with color bumps and splits.
Brad Haynes said that the Mac III represents countless feedback from not only the design community, but also the ideals and beliefs of the dedicated professional who would use the fixture every day.
"We were very excited and privileged to have the opportunity to introduce the Mac III to the Bandit family as it represents an extremely exciting new series of moving light in our incredible repertoire of intelligent lighting fixtures geared towards lighting professionals in the industry," Haynes commented. "The staff at Bandit, as always, were invaluable with their constructive comments and positive outlook for this endeavor. We look forward to hopefully continuing to work alongside with Bandit and look forward to incorporating this and many other products to the family."
