Meyer Sound Highlights New 500-HP Subwoofer, UPQ Loudspeakers, Education and More at WFX

In November, the WFX show will arrive in Houston, a metropolitan area abundant with sanctuaries of all sizes celebrated for their ability to faithfully reproduce music and spoken word with exceptional intelligibility and sound quality. The Meyer Sound booth at WFX will showcase the technology supporting these renowned worship facilities, including the recently upgraded St. Laurence Catholic Church in Sugar Land. The company will also introduce new products of keen interest to sound system designers: the UPQ-1P and UPQ-2P loudspeakers as well as the 500-HP compact high-power subwoofer, a highly sought-after complement to the popular M'elodie line array loudspeaker.

The latest additions to Meyer Sound's legendary UltraSeries, the UPQ-1P wide coverage and UPQ-2P narrow coverage self-powered loudspeakers each packs a peak output of 136 dB SPL. They offer flexible rigging options to accommodate a range of installation requirements.

The new 500-HP subwoofer is designed to answer customer requests for a subwoofer with excellent power-to-size ratio and dimensions to match the popular M'elodie line array loudspeaker to form an aesthetically pleasing array. The 500-HP can deliver powerful bass content with extremely low distortion. With its integral pole mount, the 500-HP is a perfect complement to several UltraSeries loudspeakers as well.

Also featured at the booth will be the TEC Award-winning UPJunior VariO loudspeaker and the astonishing MM-4XP self-powered miniature loudspeaker. The UPJunior is a perfect choice for applications including balcony, choir loft, and cry room systems, and the tiny MM-4XP can deliver powerful full-range sound just about anywhere while remaining out of sight. The MM-4XP is the self-powered version of the MM-4 wide coverage loudspeaker often used as frontfill and in chancel steps at churches.

The instructors of Meyer Sound's worldwide education program are dedicated to sharing their technical knowledge and their years of industry experience as system designers and FOH engineers. On Wednesday, November 5, at 3:30 PM, Bob Langlois, senior technical support representative, will help congregations tackle some common technical challenges by offering an informative presentation titled "Sound System Basics for Smaller Churches."

WFX attendees able to stay in Houston for Sunday services can experience Meyer Sound systems in action at nearby churches, including Church in the Heights in Houston, Christ United Methodist Church in Sugar Land, First United Methodist Church of Conroe, First Baptist Church Pearland, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in The Woodlands, and St. Laurence Catholic Church, which has recently upgraded to a Meyer Sound M1D line array loudspeaker system.

At the Hilton of the Americas adjoining to the convention center, Meyer Sound self-powered loudspeakers provide sound reinforcement for various public spaces throughout the hotel, including lobby areas, restaurants, lounges, ballrooms, and meeting rooms.
