Robe & Anolis in the Oval Office

A large Robe intelligent lighting and Anolis LED installation has been completed by Sound Stage Systems at the Oval Office in Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA.
The venue is a 15000 square feet "no expense-spared", upmarket ‘gentleman's' club. The concept is that of the Oval office in Washington DC, adding some gorgeous dancers, top shelf drinks and LED lighting. The club layout offers patrons a large custom built mahogany bar on entering the club, with three VIP private rooms for those demanding a little more privacy. The main showroom space has a large stage with seating around the edge to get up close to the dancers, plus six private dancer booths.
The Lounge ceiling features six large tray ceiling areas each being washed with Anolis ArcLink 3 RGB fixtures to create an opulent, warm colour mix.
The lighting was designed by Karl Kieslich from Sound Stage Systems and David Chesal from Robe Lighting Inc. The two collaborated closely - Chesal pitching in with his innovative design ideas and Kieslich with his extensive knowledge of the lighting requirements for this specialist type of venue, along with the technical support of the North Haven, CT based Sound Stage Systems team.
The brief was to produce a lighting scheme that matched the flavour and ambience of the environment, with its tasteful classic and contemporary design fusion and detailed high quality finishes throughout. They sought to produce an imaginative and dynamic environment, using striking colour-changing washes throughout the space, with some special effects on the stage and dancing areas.
They chose Robe for all the stage and house lighting. The main stage features eight ClubScan 250's, four flanking each side, in between which are nine Anolis ArcPar 12s. On the back wall of the main stage are four Robe ClubRollers for some jazzy and fun effects. Five ColorSpot 575E AT moving lights are mounted in the ceiling set back from the front of the stage, and there is a ColorWash 575E AT Zoom for the centre stage wash.
On the second smaller stage, they have utilized two ColorSpot 170's and four ArcPar 12s for washing the area.
Anolis Arclink 3 RGBs are used extensively for ceiling lighting in the lounge area's tray ceiling, where they add depth as well as colour to the space.
The "Showroom main floor" area comprises two storeys and houses the main stage as well as general seating. The idea here was to ensure the space felt intimate whilst also introducing an aura of perspective, so Chesal again specified Anolis Arclink 3 RGB fixtures to wash the walls with colour. On the second floor, 25 ArcSource 12 RGBs are installed for ceiling lighting - allowing interesting contrasts between the two levels.
Interior lighting is all run through the LightJockey DMX control system and Touchscreen monitors for ease of operation.
For a stylish finishing touch, they decided to surround the exterior of the building with 79 ArcSource 1 Warm White outdoor up-lighters.
Sound Stage Systems uses Robe and Anolis brands in 90% of its installations. "Robe fixtures are extremely reliable, and they have a smooth output and operation," says Karl Keislich. He adds that he thinks Anolis offers a very rich color output in a compact high quality package, plus all the advantages of LED technology like long life and low power and maintenance which make it ideal for commercial installations. "Great fixtures along with factory support make it a smooth installation process," he concludes.
Multi-award winning Sound Stage Systems is a sound, lighting and video design firm with 30 years of successful business and projects all across the USA. They are also one of the largest adult club and nightclub installation specialists.
