Sir Paul McCartney Live in Quebec with ChainMaster
Sir Paul McCartney appeared recently in Canada on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the founding of the city of Quebec. The jubilee show starring the ex Beatle took place in the national park called ‘The Plains of Abraham' and drew 270,000 people into the streets, where screens had been erected all round the city so that people could enjoy the show.
Two BGV-C1 electric chain hoists for loads up to 2,000kg, in their dual-brake versions, were used to move and hold in place two large LED screens suspended from chains 50 metres in length. On the stage where Paul McCartney was actually performing, another 48 1-ton hoists were in use. The construction of the elaborate stage set took technicians around four days. The ChainMaster equipment was supplied by the equipment service provider Show Distribution of Quebec.
