iLive Installed in Campbellsville University Chapel

Campbellsville University in Kentucky has installed an iLive system as the FOH mixer in its chapel. As a renowned Christian educational institute, the 900-seat Ransdell Chapel is the heart of the University, and is used for various types of events including student orientation, bi-weekly student body worship sessions, annual Pastor's conference, worship arts conference, theatrical performances, symphonies, and concerts.

"Ransdell Chapel is in constant use and every programme is different from day to day," explains Doug Price, the AV coordinator for the University. "Often, they will have multiple events in a single day, so we needed a system with easy channel and output configuration, total recall, and flexible routing. iLive was the perfect solution for Ransdell; the mix rack lives on the stage, integrates directly with the Aviom system via iLive's Aviom card, and connects to the mixing surface with two CAT5 cables - brilliant!"

Doug continues: "It goes without saying that a number of folks with different levels of experience would be mixing, so the iLive's administrative "lock out" features and its overall ease of use made the purchasing decision easy."

The new system comprises an iDR10 Mix Rack - configured with 48 inputs, 16 outputs, and the Aviom card - and an iLive-144 control surface, loaded with a further 16 inputs and 8 outputs to handle wireless mics, CD players, DVD players, and computers for playback and recording. Scene recall is heavily used to switch between the various types of events, and administrative passwords and security levels are implemented to manage the different mixing engineers. DCA's and matrix outputs are configured to feed the Lobby and Choir Room areas, as well as provide monitor and recording feeds.

"The iLive sounds amazing, and we found that the channel strip and onboard processing for the inputs and outputs really took our performances and events to the next level," states Doug.  "Once everyone got their hands on iLive, we realised it was the right choice."

The console was installed by Jim Cottrell from JCM Media with training and sales support from Marc Warling at Online Marketing.
