See Factor Lights the United Nations in Blue for World Diabetes Day

See Factor Industry, Inc., rose to the challenge of lighting an entire building in blue on November 14, when the company created a brilliant blue wash over the United Nations building in New York City. The UN led more than 1,000 efforts around the world to light monuments and famous landmarks for World Diabetes Day, an official United Nations commemorative day.

See Factor's Alban Sardzinski used a combination of ten Showgun automated luminaires from High End Systems, 24 Mac 2K wash lights and four Comar Supercycs to create a solid, uninterrupted blue wash over the face of the building.  Christina See programmed the event using a Grand MA console.  DMX signal was distributed using wireless SHoW DMX.

The result was a sight so striking that it became one of the central images on the World Diabetes Day website at www.worlddiabetesday.org

The United Nations was one of 1,101 landmarks lit in blue around the world on November 14. Other well-known buildings and monuments included the Plaza Colon in Monte Caseros, Argentina; the Southern Star in Melbourne, Australia; Brussels City Hall in Brussels, Belgium; Memorial da America Latina in Sao Paulo, Brazil; Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada; CN Tower in Toronto, Canada; the Great Pyramid of Cheops and the Sphinx in Giza, Egypt; Tsutenkaku Tower in Osaka, Japan; Viaduc de Morlaix in France; the Coliseum in Rome, Italy; Inverness Castle and Cathedral in the United Kingdom; and Sears Tower in Chicago.
