And The Winner is… Tiny Fogger!
Look Solutions’ unique, acclaimed miniature smoke machine, the Tiny Fogger, has been honoured with a Technical Achievement Award by America’s Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The technical awards run parallel to the ‘Oscar’ awards given to the stars and makers of films and are designed to reward products with a “proven track record of contributing significant value to the process of making motion pictures.”
The Academy cited Jorg Pöhler and Rüdiger Kleinke of Ottec Technology GmbH for the “design and development of the battery-operated series of fog machines known as Tiny Foggers”. The citation commended the machine’s engineering, operating characteristics and remote control options for “making possible a range of safe special effects that would be totally impractical with larger, more conventional fog units.”
Distributed in the UK exclusively by White Light, the Look Solution’s Tiny Fogger has been popular with those seeking to create smoke effects in tiny spaces since its introduction. At last year’s PLASA Show, Look Solutions launched an updated version of the machine; the new Tiny F07 is just 10.5x4.9x5.0cm, and designed so that it only draws battery power when actually running. Even so, a heat-up time of just 0.5 seconds means that it is always ready for use, controlled by its built-in button, a cable remote or a wireless radio remote. The Tiny F07 has also been designed to make maintenance easier, with a new vaporiser design that can be changed by the user on site.
Look Solutions, which celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2007, joined Ottec Technology GmbH at the Scientific and Technical Special Awards ceremony in LA, held on February 9th.
