Dynacord and Spybar Chicago
As an essential component in Chicago's nightlife landscape for the past 12 years, Spybar (646 N. Franklin St.) has stood the test of time among the numerous clubs and lounges throughout the city. Now, after five months and 1.3 million dollars in renovations, Spybar has announced the unveiling of the brand new concept and space which opened 2nd June.
After bringing in new partners and recruiting a new management team, the group worked rigorously alongside design firm Simeone Deary to conceive a fresh, sophisticated approach to cast Spybar as the premier nightlife destination in Chicago. Using the spectrum of the warm tones of the iris as well as the stark contrast of the black pupil, the new interior captures the mystique of the human eye.
The room has been gut rehabbed, but preserves the character of the original structure with design elements such as exposed rafters, oak floors, and original brick walls. Modern touches have been added to update the surroundings as well, utilizing leather, glass, and indirect lighting.
The 4,200 sq. ft. space features lush banquettes and can service up to 300 guests. The venue offers comfortable seating for guests, not just for those participating in bottle service, providing everyone with the opportunity to observe and behold the surroundings. A section at the front is offered for general seating, while additional areas are dedicated to bottle service.
Spybar's new commitment to exceptional service begins with an extensive champagne list featuring rare selections such as the 1996 Dom Perignon Rose and the 1996 Ruinart Brut. Spybar also puts a lavish spin on bottle service by exclusively partnering with Vosges Haut Chocolat to pair decadent truffles and fine chocolates with champagne. For those looking to upgrade from the typical mixes of sodas and cranberry, Spybar pairs liquor selections with seasonal, signature mixes designed by esteemed mixologist John Kinder, recently named ‘Rising Star Bar Chef' by StarChefs.com.
Spybar will continue to usher in renowned DJ's with residencies at some of hottest nightclubs around the world. In collaboration with establishing the club as the premier nightlife experience in Chicago, Spybar installed the latest in nightclub audio technology, the Dynacord Alpha-Concept sound system. The system is one of only eight of its kind in the United States and the only model present in the Midwest.
Spybar's opulence aims to establish a new standard in Chicago and provide a heightened sense of luxury among the nightlife destinations.
