PixelRange Rocks Dave Matthews Band
Dave Matthews Band (DMB) emblazoned the 1990s with their hybrid fusion of jazz-rock-music. Almost two decades later, Matthews' creative lyrics and distinctive vocals - are still entertaining capacity crowds across the USA - as DMB enjoy well deserved rock stardom.
This year's tour once again dazzles, and presents a showcase of state-of-the-art lighting effects including 38 PixelPar 90s and 41 PixelLine 110s. Lighting designers Fenton Williams and Aaron Stinebrink have worked with DMB for many years, and enjoy experimenting with the latest and greatest lighting fixtures available.
Stinebrink explains: "We choose fixtures primarily of how they will incorporate into the overall design. We then consider the reliability of the fixtures - this is the one area that PixelRange has always excelled in. PixelRange are great fixtures, well put together and thought-out for touring applications."
Williams continues: "The speed of LED products that PixelRange has offered us, has allowed us to think of toning in a whole new way - and I am looking forward to the continued development of new fixtures. The main purpose of the PixelRange fixtures on this tour is for toning truss and lighting soft goods - so mainly architectural."
The rig design incorporates an eye catching spiral truss custom built by Theatrical Media Services (TMS) which illustrates the PixelPars to maximum effect. Their intensely bright, quick moving chases - highlights the curvaceous structure of the truss beautifully.
All the lighting is supplied by TMS (Omaha) - and a grandMA was used to program and control the PixelRange fixtures.
