The first concert Michael Golden attended as a teenager was an Alice Cooper show.

From that point on, the concert industry became his only focus. In his 28 years at Bandit Lites, Golden has worked as a lighting technician, director, designer, a warehouse manager and the general manager of the Nashville location. Today Michael

Golden is Vice President of Bandit Lites. Here are a few questions we asked to get to know him a little better.

Q. What is your title? Please describe your job responsibilities.

A. My title is Vice President. Responsibilities include the pursuit, negotiation and overseeing of touring / special event projects.

Q. How has your job evolved over the years?

A. From 1980-89 I was a lighting technician, crew chief, lighting director and designer for Bandit Lites. In 1990, I transitioned into an office role of warehouse manager/general manager of our Nashville facility and went on to become Vice President of Bandit Lites.

Q. From your point of view, what are the biggest changes facing the entertainment technology industry at the moment?

A. The biggest changes are the integration between video and lighting coupled with the LED technology that is unfolding.

Q. Do you have any advice for someone looking to get into this industry?

A. Realise that the people you work with today may well affect your life 30 years from now. Anyone that wants a career in this business will value the chances they have to make positive impressions and make the best of those opportunities every day.

Q. What is the biggest challenge you face in your job?

A. Time. There never seems to be enough.
