New Canto 2000 Followspot Featured by Strong

Strong Entertainment Lighting has announced their planned introduction at LDI of a new 2,000 watt Canto followspot from the Italian manufacturer LDR (Luci della Ribalta).

First introduced at the PLASA show in London, the Canto 2000 FF delivers a superb flat field for medium throw applications. While marketed as a world class professional followspot, its compact size, and cool operation will also make it an excellent fit for high school auditoria and houses of worship. This followspot takes full advantage of the new 2000 MSR FastFit lamp from Philips, by incorporating rear access lamp replacement.

The extremely flat field of light is then produced through a European style "profile" optical train utilizing a spherical reflector and double condenser lens set. This approach produces far crisper gobo images and superior field quality to that of the ellipsoidal reflector designs that are common to North American followspots.

"We were quite pleased with the performance that we saw in London," said Paul Rabinovitz, vice president of Lighting at Ballantyne Strong. "The Canto 2000FF will be a welcome addition to the Canto line that has proven so popular in the United States and Canada. It is an excellent complement to the larger followspots that Strong manufactures in Omaha."

Like other followspots in that Canto line, the new 2000 watt unit features a compact package, very quiet fan, user friendly controls and world class performance.

Throws of 50 to over 100 feet appear to maximize its performance.

Model bid specifications will be available to architects and consultants shortly after LDI from the Strong Entertainment Lighting manufacturer's representatives, supported by the Strong regional managers.

The followspots will be available in North America from the Strong network of value added Dealers, from Honolulu to Halifax.
