PixelArcs Light Treasure Island Casino
PixelArc architectural LED luminaires, have recently been installed by Alternative Video Solutions Inc (AVS) at Treasure Island Resort and Casino in Red Wing, Minnesota. AVS is a rental/staging and sales company, also located in Minnesota. The entrance of the newly renovated hotel now boasts a 25' high and 15' wide toucan bird - the long established logo of the Treasure Island Casino.
The impressive bird, designed and built by 3 Ring Scenic - has been constructed out of reflective aluminum and painted white. The toucan comes alive at dusk, lit creatively by 3 PixelArc R heads installed inside the structure and 3 PixelArc Cs on the outside.
Ron Thill from AVS comments: "The PixelArcs do a perfect job of getting the toucan to come to life, with glowing, deep, vibrant colors. We were confident the lights would work beautifully, due to the fact that AVS has used PixelRange products in our rental inventory, and have seen them in action many times before."
The ultra compact 3 PixelArc R heads installed inside the bird are run off a single 6way power supply/controller. This allows these fixtures to be controlled and change colors together. Whilst the PixelArc Cs installed on the outside, are run off individual power supplies wired together via DMX and run in slave mode. This also allows these fixtures to be controlled and change colors together.
The control for the PixelArc Rs and Cs was deliberately kept separate, to allow the client flexibility - and could therefore make the inside and the outside of the bird glow different colors as and when required.
Chris Hand at 3 Ring Scenic comments: "The PixelArcs specified and installed by AVS, far and away exceeded our expectations. We weren't sure what to think at the design stage, but the toucan really comes to life with the rich colors produced by the PixelArcs."
PixelArcs are UL appoved/IP65 rated high powered LED architectural luminaires. Available as self contained units with circular (PixelArc C) or rectangular (PixelArc R) heads. For compact spaces, PixelArc R is also available as a head only - which can be controlled via an external source.
