J. R. Clancy Offers Three-Year Warranty Extension
In an unprecedented move for the theatrical rigging industry, J. R. Clancy, Inc., now includes a three-year warranty, provided that the owner completes a maintenance and safety inspection of their new rigging each year by an authorized J. R. Clancy dealer.
Generally, motorized rigging manufacturers offer a one-year warranty on new systems. This three-year warranty from J. R. Clancy rewards theatre managers and technical directors for performing inspections and maintenance on an annual basis-helping customers protect their investment in automated rigging.
"We want the end users of our equipment to be successful," said Tom Young, vice president of marketing for J. R. Clancy. "Motorized equipment is more complex than manual equipment, and it needs more specialized inspection and maintenance. We want our users to have trouble-free systems, and the best way to ensure this is to have the equipment inspected regularly by a trained professional."
Clancy has offered a three-year warranty on manual (counterweight) rigging since 2001, with considerable success. Now, the company underscores its focus on rigging safety by rewarding all customers who take safety seriously in their performance spaces.
"OSHA requires an annual inspection of all overhead lifting systems," Young explained, "but many facilities do not inspect and maintain rigging systems in their stages. As the first rigging manufacturer to offer a three-year warranty on motorized rigging, we can emphasize the three most important steps in backstage safety: Train, Inspect and Maintain."
To find an authorized rigging inspector in their area, customers can contact J. R. Clancy.
