Turbosound is a Cut Above at Paul Mitchell the School

Paul Mitchell has a hair salon network of over 70,000 around the United States and Canada, as well as having a presence in 44 countries worldwide. Its professional training arm, Paul Mitchell the School, has a 20-year history, with new sites constantly opening around the US. Its Wichita, Kansas school not only offers the legendary education that the Paul Mitchell name is renowned for, but now has a cutting-edge Turbosound audio system as well. The educational facility covers a total area of 12,000 square feet, which is divided into various areas for specific activities. In The Clinic hairstyling instruction area eight compact passive two-way Impact 55Ts and two TXD-118 subs have been installed, whilst the General Classroom, Core Classroom One, Core Classroom Two, the Wash House area and the office, halls, breakout room and restrooms are covered by varying amounts of TCS-C50T ceiling speakers, numbering 28 in total. "As a preferred vendor for Paul Mitchell Schools, we strive to provide a high impact message delivery coupled with HD technology," explains Dr. Nicholas Sanders, CEO of AV integrator Avashare, which carried out the installation. "The performance/price/form factor of the new Impact 55T lends itself well to the role of high-impact video presentations and high-energy background music," adds Avashare integration specialist Michael Lannon. "And the wall bracket with electrical connections is great for quickly and cleanly installing the unit in a wide variety of situations. "The Turbosound TCS-C50T ceiling speaker, being a close sonic and mechanical mate to the Impact 55T, allowed our company to easily provide the same sonic character throughout the entire Paul Mitchell School learning complex." Landon has found that the sonic result on The Clinic floor is effortlessly full, rich and dynamic but, with the aid of the pair of TXD series suspended subwoofers, non-fatiguing. "The Impact 55T is an exceptional model," he continues. "It lacks the HF ring modes that are not only fatiguing, but are present in virtually every other brand's competitive offering within this class." "I have been pleasantly surprised by the healthy, rich and vibrant sound of the Turbosound speakers," says Clint Davis, owner of the Wichita school, who was initially doubtful when the Avashare technicians told him he did not need as many units as he had originally specified. "However, the coverage is excellent, and even at mid levels the sound is amazing," he declares. "The speakers have a superb balance of mids, highs and lows for such a small, compact unit. And of course that tiny footprint, color-matched with our décor, was a perfect fit in our learning environment. "With a price literally half of the nearest competitors, and easily twice the quality, I have no issues whatsoever recommending Turbosound speakers. We added subs to our main clinic floor and the combination give us the quality and capability of a mini concert hall at a fraction of the price! "I was blown away during the sound tests, and when I asked the lead audio-tech from Avashare what levels they were testing at, I was informed it was only about 10 percent of the potential output. Sometimes it's just nice to know I can, 'just because'..." "We at Avashare are proud to be the AV provider for Paul Mitchell School in Wichita," concludes Dr Sanders. "We hope to continue the excellence in service and quality both companies so highly value."
