Total Structures Summer Hoist School
Total Structures has announced its summer hoist school. This two-day ETCP recognised training course is for anyone working with Columbus McKinnon entertainment electric chain hoists. The course will be held on Monday 17th August and Tuesday 18th August in Oxnard, CA. Class size is limited to 20 students, however should demand necessitate an additional course will be added for Wednesday 19th August and Thursday 20th August.
Unlike prior Columbus McKinnon training schools this course will now include a written certification examination on what they have learned, with successful students receiving recognition as being a CM-ET (Columbus McKinnon Entertainment Technology) certified entertainment hoist technician.
Appropriately qualified students passing the course will also obtain 16 renewal credits towards ETCP rigging examination re-certification. Ideally suited to both touring and in-house repair technicians, the course will be taught by Dave Carmack, lead trainer for CM-ET. Dave, who is based at the Lodestar hoist manufacturing plant in Damascus, VA is a 30-year veteran of Columbus McKinnon and has enjoyed teaching hoist schools around the world. Dave's experience includes all facets of the hoist industry including production, design and engineering.
Dave will instruct attendees in the design and operation of the hoists, maintenance needs, inspection requirements and unit troubleshooting all through a hands-on teardown and inspection of a ½ Ton and 1 Ton Lodestar hoist as well as the smaller Prostar model. The cost of the course, including the examination, is $295 per student, including lunch and refreshments on both days as well as a catered tour of the Total Structures factory on the first evening. Hotel accommodation is available on-site for an additional cost.
Those interested in attending should e-mail their contact details to training@totalstructures.com or call Jennifer on 805-676-3322. They will then be contacted with further information and details on how to enrol if interested. It is expected that this course will be fully enrolled so to avoid disappointment please contact Total Structures immediately if you are interested in attending.
