Wigwam Acoustics Stocks Up with Van Damme Cable for George Michael Tour

With tickets now on sale for George Michael’s forthcoming British and European Stadium tour, Wigwam Acoustics is checking its stock of Van Damme cable in readiness for the concerts, which start in Denmark on May 18th.

Established as one of the foremost UK companies for the hire and sales of professional audio equipment and systems, Wigwam Acoustics will be providing all the necessary sound equipment for the tour. Included in this list will be a vast stock of Van Damme cable, supplied by UK cable specialist VDC Trading.

Chris Hill, director of Wigwam Acoustics, says: “We’ll be using Van Damme cables for microphones, speakers and mains because they are tough enough to withstand the rigours of a tour of this size. The brand is well established and we know from many years experience that its products can be trusted to deliver great results.”

Over the years, Wigwam Acoustics has provided its expertise to many high profile artistes and events touring Europe, USA, Asia, Africa and the Eastern Block. Recent tour contracts have included Westlife, Radiohead, Prince, Eminem, Björk, Blue, Moby, Ronan Keating and Barry Manilow, as well as George Michael’s 2006 49-date 25 Live European tour, his first in 15 years, which sold out within minutes of tickets going on sale and entertained over 650,000 fans in 11 different countries.

The new tour will see George Michael playing the first two ever music concerts at the new Wembley Stadium in June 2007. With a capacity of 90,000, Wembley Stadium is set to be one of the greatest entertainment venues in the world hosting some of the biggest and most exciting global events in the sports and music calendar. George Michael has played the venue many times in the past. Among his most memorable appearances were Live Aid in 1985, Wham’s farewell concert with Andrew Ridgeley in 1986, the Nelson Mandela concert in 1988, the Freddie Mercury tribute concert in 1992 and Net Aid in 1999.

The tour will also visit Manchester, Glasgow, Plymouth and Norwich as well as France, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Holland and Hungary.
