The Vatican – Osram lends St. Peter's Square in Rome a new sense of radiance. Following refurbishment, modern and energy-efficient outdoor LED luminaires provide a unique lighting experience and also save energy of approximately 70 percent. The project concept by Direzione dei Servizi Tecnici del Governatorato dello Stato della Città del Vaticano was realised with support from Osram, the reference partner for global lighting expertise. Co-operation with Servizi Tecnici del Governatorato was also fundamental for the success of the important Sistine Chapel project, carried out in 2014. The new lighting system for the Sistine Chapel featured higher lumen output and artwork-conserving LED lighting to protect and enhance Michelan-gelo's renowned frescoes. It also served as a benchmark with regard to artistic, historical and preservative aspects.

Poland – Over 600 d&b loudspeakers, nearly 150 D80 amplifiers, and 29 delay towers for one stage, this was an event on an almost unprecedented scale. Blonia Park, near Poland’s ancient city of Kraków, was the venue for the 13th World Youth Day. Since the inaugural gathering in Rome in 1986, the Catholic Church has invited young people of all faiths and persuasions to congregate at events held globally, from Toronto to Sydney to Denver to Manila in the Philippines. World Youth Day 2016 presented an opportunity for Pope Francis to engage with hundreds of thousands of young people who were also treated to a music festival on a massive scale: bands of all different backgrounds and genres, and a large number of soloists. All of which represented a herculean task for GMB pro sound, the audio company responsible for providing sound reinforcement across the 48 hectare site.

USA – The June 2016 edition of NAVFAC P-307, a publication of the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Navy Crane Center Weight Handling Program Management, has a new section 13 entitled “Entertainment Hoists.” The section calls out hoists systems identified in their equipment history files as being “entertainment hoists” and conforming to the design and manufacturing requirements in ANSI E1.6 as being different from hoists and cranes used for material handling and construction, and therefore being subject to different rules for their use and maintenance. Those rules include being maintained and operated in accordance with the ANSI E1.6 standards and the OEM recommendations.
