Getting to Grips with the Grid - ArcSystem Brightens up The Albany

UK – Last year more than 40,000 people attended more than 400 events at The Albany, the performing arts centre in Deptford, South East London and more than 180,000 visitors used the extensive facilities on offer at the centre. As well as four performance spaces, The Albany has a cafe bar and office space, as well as rehearsal and meeting rooms. Its richly diverse programme is centred on family shows, music, theatre and spoken word. This highly progressive arts venue is driven by the creative mix flowing from the cultural diversity of the area. A social enterprise supported by the London Borough of Lewisham and Arts Council England, The Albany earns over 50% of its income and is re-establishing itself as a significant arts venue in the capital. At present, The Albany is home to more than 20 resident theatre and arts groups and is proud to describe itself as an 'ecovenue', seeking to continually improve its performance in reducing the impact of its activities on the environment. Recently the venue began to explore a programme of investment and development for the site, which would simultaneously maximise its potential as an outstanding cultural resource and further embed its environmental sustainability.

Eizi Eiz, Denyo and DJ Mad sound as fresh as ever with their brand new album, Advanced Chemistry. UK – Britannia Row Productions Training is running its core 12 week Live Sound Technology Course (LSTC) from early April. The 2017 course will be primarily be delivered from South Thames College in Wandsworth with some sessions being held at Britannia Row’s main headquarters in Twickenham and some on site at Britannia Row shows. The tutors delivering the course will, as usual, be Britannia Row staff and freelance engineers and technicians.

It was supposed to be a weekend gig, but 26 years later the South African- born lighting designer is still with the multi-platinum singer, lighting the final Kenny Rogers tour. In 1986, 19-year-old Mike Tyson won his 20th straight professional boxing win at GFCC, in 1989, The Who launched their 25th Anniversary Tour at GFCC and in 1994, Phish performed its first “Halloween Costume” show with a cover of The Beatles White Album in its entirety at GFCC. USA Located just off the National Mall in Washington, D.C., the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM) is a research centre and memorial, as well as a powerful and well presented collection of artefacts, documents, photographs, films, and audio recordings about the Holocaust. The museum's 500-seat Meyerhoff Theater is a beautiful venue for lectures, meetings, speeches, and documentary films, but its old sound system was woefully inadequate. To design a new system that would fully meet the theatre's needs, museum management turned to Steve Haas, founder and president of SH Acoustics. Haas specified a system based on Renkus-Heinz Iconyx-series loudspeakers.
