Bryte Design delivers yet again another fantastic performance with Hippotizer Media Servers
UK – Hippotizer was again the media server of choice for the John Peel Stage at the Glastonbury festival. A Hippotizer Karst unit fed the setting’s main upstage LED wall, making it nine years in a row for Green Hippo technology operating under the iconic yellow and blue canopy.
Renamed in 2004 in honour of the late disc jockey (it was formerly known as the New Bands Tent) the John Peel Stage has always been home to up and coming artists; now well-established acts such as Florence and the Machine, Phoenix and The Killers delivering headline-grabbing performances.
This year, Bryte Design specified the Hippotizer Karst media server plus a further unit for backup and they were supplied by Universal Pixels. Kate Perring and Alexander Zacharakis operated the system, controlling a 13m x 5m 10mm Glux wall. The team configured the Karst with a 4×4 matrix routing the outputs and two HD-SDI inputs from the BBC’s feeds (live broadcast, Red Button stream, iPlayer and iPlayer Radio). Impressed by the excellent level of access and control offered by Hippotizer media servers, Bryte Design continues to rely on Green Hippo to help lighting and video designers to integrate lighting and video.
Commenting on another great Glastonbury for his creative outfit, Pablo Beckett of Bryte Design said: “We have used Hippotizer on the John Peel Stage for almost a decade now, with the Hippotizer ecosystem always delivering a robust and reliable performance.”
