The Pro-Ribbon Immersive Experience Returns to CEDIA 2017

USA – CEDIA 2017 sees Dutch manufacturer Alcons Audio make a triumphant return to the show where it has been voted best audio demo room for the past two years in a row. Known world-wide for its proprietary, patented Pro-Ribbon technology, Alcons has quickly established itself in the residential home theatre market.

The Alcons systems deliver the unique distortion-free clarity and detail of high-end HiFi systems, paired with the dynamic capabilities and robustness of professional systems.

The Alcons Pro-Ribbon Immersive Experience is a joint collaboration with Barco Residential, ScreenAcoustics and Trinnov.

In the acoustically-optimised high-performance audio room 25C (upper level), Alcons hosts hourly presentations on immersive surround for residential installations and the unique properties of Alcons' pro-ribbon sound systems dramatically enhancing the home theatre experience.

The audio system will be a hybrid 11.X.6 immersive surround configuration, comprising 20+ Alcons all pro-ribbon loudspeakers, driven by 26 channels of Sentinel amplified loudspeaker controllers with lossless AES3 digital signal distribution. This set-up is designed to reproduce native and upmixed Dolby Atmos, Auro-3D and DTS:X content.

Alcons pro-ribbon sound systems are in use at Walt Disney, NBC Universal, Lucasfilm, Google/YouTube, Levels Audio Hollywood, VUE cinemas, Hamilton the Musical, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg a.o. and a fast growing number of reference home theatres around the world.
