A Green Screen Fit for an Action-Packed Shoot

USA - When TA Films began shooting basketball footage for a collegiate conference in the United States, the Big South, their fabric green screen was no match against the dynamic moves of the athletes. Quickly becoming wrinkled and damaged as the players showcased their moves, TA Films traded in their fabric green screen for a painted cyc wall using Rosco Chroma Key Paint. The painting was done in a day and made the shoot both safer and more efficient, as the athletes didn’t have to worry about slipping on a fabric screen, and the production crew didn’t have to stop shooting to adjust the screen and fix the wrinkles.

The five-hour show was anchored by extended sets from members of three of the bands that Cornell fronted: Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, and Audioslave ,and featured performances by Metallica, Foo Fighters, The Melvins, and others. Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, the show also featured an extensive list of guests, including Jack Black, Brad Pitt, Brandi Carlile, Fiona Apple, Josh Homme, Miley Cyrus, Adam Levine, Chris Stapleton, and Ziggy Marley, who all paid tribute to the beloved musician that suffered from depression, which led him to take his life in May of 2017.
