Belgium – Belgian electronic rock band, GOOSE, has a fan base that spans Europe. They have produced four albums and headlined at major festivals including Rock Werchter, Pukkelpop and Tomorrowland. 2020 marks two decades of success and also sees them celebrate the tenth anniversary of their second album, Synrise, the cover of which, interestingly, was designed by British graphic designer, Storm Thorgerson, well-known for producing many of the legendary Pink Floyd album covers. To mark the occasion, and to give their fans something special in these strange and challenging times, GOOSE collaborated with Sennheiser and the Music Research Expertise Unit of Belgium’s PXL University of Applied Sciences and Arts to produce an extraordinary binaural recording and mix of the album’s title track, which was released on 22nd October.

Chile – A national historic monument, the Teatro Galia was intended to reflect the pride and character of the Los Ríos region when it was built over a two-year period in the 1940s. Designers Felipe Barthou Lapouple and Juan Poletter Saint-Simon adopted a balloon frame system for the 500-seat theatre to reflect their country’s rich art deco tradition. Inside, they used only native Chilean woods for flooring and panelling, including warm, orange-tinged Lenga, famous the world over for its depth and texture.

USA – Although Miami’s annual VOUS Conference has been taking place for more than a decade, VOUS Church first officially launched five years ago out of a weekly young adult gathering known as The Rendezvous, started by Trinity Church in Miami Gardens. Since then, VOUS Church has grown rapidly, expanding into two worship spaces: a 1,500-seat auditorium at iTech, Miami’s mega technology magnet high school and a 500-seat hall at Jose De Diego middle school, just two miles to the south. But the real audience explosion has taken place virtually, especially during the pandemic, with the church now having an average of 40,000 viewers streaming services online each week.

The venue has recently been acquired by the same experienced club operator who also own London super club Studio 338 – a massive music and arts venue on the Greenwich Peninsular and sister club ‘The Bridge’ (also in London). The team are familiar with the Void brand and have an excellent working relationship with the Void team. They have consistently chosen Void as their audio system of choice for the last decade, starting with their install at Studio 338, which currently boasts a four-point Air Motion system covering their large capacity multi-room club including one of the largest outdoor terrace arenas in Europe as well as a Loft Room and VIP level. All sadly out of commission at the moment due to the Covid-19 crisis, however, hopeful of a resurgence in early 2021.

Taiwan – While the pandemic has forced millions of music lovers into their homes across the world, the appetite for live shows was clearly demonstrated when Eric Chou’s 2020 How Have You Been concerts sold all 42,000 tickets across four concerts (8 and 9 August in Taipei and 5 and 6 September in Kaohsiung) in just 15 minutes.
