The renovated Gran Via Station proves that GrandMA3 onPC rack-unit is a solid lighting control system for a fixed installation
Spain – Last July, the comprehensive renovation of the iconic metro station Gran Vía was completed and counted among its novelties with grandMA3 onPC as a lighting control system. This solution integrated by Stonex allows more versatility in lights play from compact equipment that is easy to execute and customise. Hence, the renewed Gran Vía station offers its travellers a unique and luminous experience every time.
In charge of the lighting control for the main hall and the RGB LED luminaires of the exterior pavilion, both the grandMA3 onPC software and 2 Port Node by MA Lighting are in place.
Thanks to the stability of the MA software, it is possible to carry out complex programming that can be easily managed by Metro staff. In addition, the 'agenda' function makes it possible to establish a lighting design for a specific date and save it as to repeating it automatically over time, such as for Christmas special lighting or the Community of Madrid festivities.
The system is integrated into a dedicated PC for GrandMA3 software, with a multi-touch screen that eases a quick and intuitive handle. The innovation and liability of the new MA Lighting onPC solutions make them an accurate choice for fixed installations with advanced lighting needs, such as metro stations or other unique spaces.
When it comes to controlling the 661 lights placed on the platforms and corridors of one of the most crowded stations in the world, saving space and gain in simplicity are key. The iLIGHT system of three SCMD4 modules and one SCMD2 module offers simple lighting controls that could also connect to other elements such as multi-sensors or emergency lights.
The versatility of the grandMA3 solution makes it easy to control a large volume of LEDs from equipment that can be adapted to any installation, saving space and costs. Its great interface makes dimming and switching on luminaires and relays very user-friendly.
Thanks to this integration of state-of-the-art lighting control systems carried out by Stonex, the renovated Gran Vía Metro station offers a unique experience to passengers and becomes a living metro station, which adapts its environment to each occasion through light design.
